inflatable sculpture
2010

In 2010 Eclectic Electric Collective sent a 12-metre inflatable hammer to the COP 16 Climate Conference in Cancún, Mexico.
Inspired by the quote "Art is not a mirror held up to reality, but a hammer with which to shape it," the project aimed to spark new narratives for climate action and international solidarity.

The hammer was used in a protest by Marea Creciente (Rising Tide) and destroyed by police – an event that turned it into a powerful global symbol of creative resistance in the climate justice movement.
