Doesn't really mattress

installation in public space

2015

The urban installation Doesn’t really Mattress was selected as part of the competition Shabby Shabby Apartments (by Raumlabor Berlin and Münchner Kammerspiele) and realised on Hans-Mielich-Platz in Munich.

As part of Urban Issues – how to change the city, the extra-long mattress could be booked for one night through the theatre. The temporary apartment was built using recycled materials, with a focus on the current housing situation in contemporary cities.

Doesn’t really Mattress became a social space for the neighbourhood – an intimate shelter in the middle of the public realm, a playground, and a place for anyone who simply wanted to stay.
